16. Rhythmic gymnastics

by Nika Crevatini

My Passion:

My passion is rhythmic gymnastics. I used to be a professional gymnast and after more than 10 years I have “retired” and I opened my own club in Zagreb, Croatia. I became a trainer and now, 6 years later, I couldn’t be more happy. I do what I love.

Discovery Journey

I discovered rhythmic gymnastics when I was 7 years old and kind of by accident. My best friend was going to the gym and I went once with her to provide her company and to check it out. I soon discovered that I loved it so much and started practicing more and more and became better and better.

This is it

How did you know this is it? I just fell in love with the sport immediately. I know it might be different for everybody but I knew from the very first moment that this is what I want to be doing. Now 18 years later I can just confirm that it was love at first sight.

Try it

Ideally one should start at very early age, around 3. At the beginning you don’t require any equipment so a trial course at the gym with a professional trainer is enough. If you are a bit older :) and you want to try it recreationally, go for it. Anybody can join a course. It is a demanding, yet graceful sport, as you practice stretching, strength, rhythm, equipment coordination and ballet at the same time. Happy exercising!
